THE POSITION
We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Labourer Installer to join our team. As a Racking Installer, you will be responsible for the installation, assembly, and maintenance of racking systems in various commercial and industrial settings. Your attention to detail and ability to work independently will be essential in ensuring the proper setup and functionality of the racking systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install and assemble racking systems according to blueprints, specifications, and company guidelines.
- Use Hand and power tools to securely fasten racks to floors.
- Help troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the installation process.
- Works with supervisor to prioritize and complete assigned work orders in an efficient and effective manner
- Performs described duties and related assignments efficiently arid effectively in order to produce quantity of work which consistently meets the standards and expectations of the organization
- Uses proper equipment and safety procedures to ensure a safe workplace
- Maintain a clean and organized work setting to promote a safe work environment
- Comprehend hardware and material size/dimensions to efficiently complete assigned task
- Use and maintain numerous types of equipment while ensuring daily inspections are being completed for safe daily operations
- Ability to read and execute industrial blueprints and drawings to complete job
- Work alongside various tradesman efficiently and with respect
- Use knowledge of safe operations of power tools and hazardous materials when required to do so.
- Always working in a safe manner, following safety policies and provided training to perform daily job duties
- Perform all other given duties to the standard of the company.

- Able to measure height, width, length, and other proportions
- Interpersonal skills and teamwork: You must be able to coordinate your actions with those of other workers on busy construction sites.
- Critical thinking: Your job will require that you identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions to problems in order to choose the one that is most likely to be successful and cost-effective.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.
- Ability to work in a production environment where daily production goals are set, evaluated and optimized
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Comfortable working in an environment with high construction equipment traffic.
- Able to take and follow instructions and/or direction from supervisors
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
Qualifications
- Working on Heights and Aerial Lift Certifications required
- Forklift Certification is an asset
- Previous experience working in commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in the construction industry.
- WHMIS
- Able to work in Canada
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers
- Ability to work in hot and cold weather
- Ability to lift heavy material (50-60lbs) for long durations of time using your training in proper lifting techniques
- Good manual dexterity for the use of common mechanical tools
JOB LOCATION
Top Shelf is based in Brantford, ON. We operate in warehouses and distribution centers throughout Southern Ontario. Please be aware before applying that this can mean long commutes to work. Paid travel time to facilities out of town.
