General Labourer (Seasonal)
Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre Inc. is currently seeking a General Labourer to join our team on a seasonal basis from April to September 2024.
The General Labourer is responsible for contributing to the day-to-day appearance, safety and cleanliness of the Toronto Pan Am Sports Center’s outdoor property and loading dock area including, but not limited to, the following: grounds maintenance (such as outdoor sweeping, lawn maintenance, cutting/trimming, weeding and maintaining of outdoor gardens); assisting with minor repairs; assisting with shipping and receiving deliveries at the loading dock; waste and recycling activities; general cleaning and assisting with basic maintenance in other areas of the building.
Experience
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs;
- Fit and capable of physical work for duration of shifts;
- Able to work for extended periods of time outdoors;
- Experience working with basic tools;
- Experience with cleaning;
- Experience with garden maintenance;
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C preferred;
- Self-motivated and exhibits a reliable and professional attitude;
- Attention to detail (look for things big and small) and thorough;
- Able to work with minimal supervision;
- Able to work as part of a team;
- Takes pride in work;
- Positive attitude, highly motivated, energetic
Three professional references will be required, and the successful candidate(s) will be required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check.
HOURS OF WORK
Successful candidate must be able to work Monday to Friday from 8am-4pm with flexibility to work occasional weekend or evening shifts on an as needed basis.

A legacy of the 2015 Toronto Pan Am and Parapan Am Games, Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre is operated by a corporation co-owned by the City of Toronto and the University of Toronto. The world-class facility was the largest sport new-build for the Games and the largest infrastructure investment in Canadian amateur sport history.
