To qualify for Summer Student employment with the Township of Mulmur, you must be:
· be between the ages of 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
· be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
· have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Reporting to the Public Works Foreperson, the successful candidate will be assisting the Public Works Department with road construction and maintenance functions.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Traffic control
· Sign maintenance, grass cutting and painting
· Operating weed eaters, lawn mower and other small tools
· Daily maintenance and cleaning duties at Township facilities
· Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
· Must have and maintain a valid “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence
· Requires light to moderate lifting
· Possess C.S.A. approved safety footwear
Knowledge & Skills
· Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively
· Self-motivated
· Willing to work overtime as required
