Geomatics Technician in British Columbia
Adecco’s client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geomatics Technician in British Columbia to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to produce maps, plans, and survey reports. You will also be involved in field work and use specialized equipment to gather data and perform surveys. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, a good eye for detail, and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Geomatics Technician Responsibilities Are:

  • Collect and analyze data from various sources, including aerial photographs, satellite images, and field surveys
  • Use specialized equipment such as GPS, Total Stations, and LIDAR to perform surveys and collect data
  • Prepare and maintain accurate maps, plans, and survey reports using computer software and other technology
  • Collaborate with survey teams and other professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Communicate project status and results to project managers, clients, and stakeholders
  • Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Maintain and repair surveying equipment, as needed
Geomatics Technician Qualifications Are:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field
  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment, such as GPS, Total Stations, and LIDAR
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and other mapping software
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with people at all levels
  • Ability to work in challenging outdoor conditions and in remote locations
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
