Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all charitable donations received by the University are processed according to governmental and university policy. This involves overseeing the daily work of the Gifts Administration Assistant and acting as primary liaison with Finance related departments, external auditors, academic departments and Advancement staff to coordinate donation accounts, analyze income and produce specialized reports in a very high-volume and high accountability environment.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Exceptional attention to detail and financial experience with relevant accounting principles and specialized charitable tax receipting knowledge.
• The ability to compose error-free donor and stakeholder correspondence.
• Experience with best data practices and designing specialized reports.
• Experience using on-line computer systems and portals.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills and the ability to deal effectively with people, and the capability to work with a minimal degree of supervision.
• The incumbent must be able to multi-task and initiate, plan, manage and implement special projects autonomously.
• Supervisory experience in a unionized environment would be an asset.
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through :
• Completion of a university Bachelor's Degree.
• Five years of progressively more responsible experience in Gifts Administration, preferably in the post-secondary sector.
