Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated GIS Specialist for employment. This role can be located at any AECOM office in Ontario.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and associated software to produce, display, and analyze geographic information
Develop and maintain databases, reports, and mapping
Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes
Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components
Support digital data collection programs
Use concepts, practices, and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients
Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Develop and maintain databases, reports, and maps.
Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes
Prepare and update metadata
Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Geography or other related field required
2+ years of relevant experience
Willingness to travel (up to 10% local travel)
Preferred Qualifications :
4 years of relevant experience
Basic experience working with ArcGIS and other GIS databases
Proficiency with ESRI desktop mapping and analysis tools and extensions (ArcGIS Online, Portal, Web Apps, Survey 123 etc)
Understanding of complex relational database organization, design, and functionality
Proficiency in the processing and analysis of raster and vector geospatial data
Demonstrated knowledge of cartographic design and production concepts and principles
Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate in both verbal and written form
Familiar with GIS production environments
Experience in the development of online mapping platforms and applications (AGOL)
Basic application and tool development skills using Model Builder, Python, or Visual Basic
Working knowledge of LiDAR processing techniques
Working knowledge of raster processing techniques
Driver's license
Additional Information
Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $50,000 - $70,000.
