AddressGIS Specialist
Adecco is currently recruiting for a GIS Specialist. This is a 11-month hybrid contract opportunity with a possibility of extension. This role is with our government client in downtown Ottawa, ON. The successful candidate must hold a valid Secret Security Clearance.
The GIS Specialist will have the following responsibilities:
- Review the current implementation of 2D and 3D maps; Includes Spectrum License (SL) site data, service area contour data, and Radio License (RL) site data.
- Propose a short-term solution for a faster/better user-experience 2D map (e.g., using ArcGIS Experience Builder) with some data filters and some data charts/tables;
- Propose a longer-term perspective in support to the future time slicer data and grid cell data;
- Implement the short-term solution and provide a demo; and
- Work with the AWS ETL developers to integrate their data uploader tool (developed in-house using Python) so that the above map gets automatically updated;
- Assist in the set-up of the ArcGIS online web accounts;
- Review the current Power BI (PBI) SL dashboard;
- Review the current SCP architecture and the Data Lake Infrastructure proposed by AWS;
- Attend Q&A sessions with ESRI, DTSS, CCB, AWS and other stakeholders;
- Build a small prototype to map radio station "lat/long" GPS coordinates into the corresponding service area polygon areas;
- Assess current state as it relates to the required deliverables;
- Perform gap analysis, 3rd party evaluation and comparative analysis as required;
- Design, develop, and maintain documentation and Data Models based on best practices;
- Contribute to project team meetings and collaborate with the DTSS project manager/project authority and STS project team;
- Complete and submit, for weekly approval, time sheets by project using the (in-house) Project Tracking System and Provide updates/status reporting to project team management as required
- Other related activities and deliverables, as required;
The GIS Specialist must meet the following mandatory requirements:
- University degree or college diploma in computer science or a related field;
- Must have 3 + years of experience with GIS desktop software and data management;
- Must have 3+ years of experience using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal, or any web mapping system;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to effectively configure and analyze data;
- Experience with various technology methodologies and applications;
- Detail oriented and analytical thinker;
