Tuya Construction Ltd. is a civil construction company located in Chilliwack, BC.  who is currently looking for a Gradeperson to join our team.

Job description 

The following are some of, but not limited to, the job requirements, abilities and understandings:  

· Set elevations and grades for roads, underground utilities and any other needs.

· Work with the Foreman and crew to establish layouts and setups.

· Read and understand drawings and check for completeness or any errors.

· Be able to direct equipment operators to adjust grade to correct levels.

· Proficient use of levels and survey equipment, including maintenance and proper storage.

· Work safely around equipment as well as promote a safe work environment, including attending daily tool box meetings.

· Maintain complete field notes and be able to prepare reports as needed.

· Must have valid drivers licence and reliable transportation.

· Strong work ethic a requirement. 

· Strong written and verbal communication. 

Qualifications

· Experience as a Gradesperson or Surveyor

· Able to read and understand blueprints including cut/fills

· 3+ years experience in civil construction

Work Environment: 

The following work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the job holder will encounter 

· Work outdoors in all season 

· Work around heavy equipment 

· Work near traffic 

· Exposure to loud noises 

Compensation & Benefits

· Wage will be based on knowledge, skill and experience 

· Extended benefits after a 3 month period

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $24.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
