Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Greenhouse Manager to join our team, specializing in the care and maintenance of tropical plants and others. This position will involve oversight of inventory management, ordering, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plant Care: Work with a variety of tropical plants, ensuring they receive appropriate care, including watering, pruning, repotting, and pest control. Monitor and maintain ideal growing conditions to promote plant health and growth.
2. Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of tropical plants, supplies, and accessories. Coordinate with vendors to order new plants and supplies as needed. Track inventory levels and ensure timely reordering to maintain a diverse and attractive product selection.
3. Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner, providing advice on tropical plants, care tips, and recommendations for suitable plants based on customer needs and preferences. Answer customer inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email, resolving issues and providing a positive shopping experience.
4. Visual Merchandising: Participate in creating eye-catching displays of tropical plants and related merchandise to enhance the overall shopping experience for customers. Arrange plants in an aesthetically pleasing manner and ensure a clean and inviting retail space.
5. Plant Knowledge and Education: Stay informed about the characteristics and care requirements of various tropical plants. Share this knowledge with customers and colleagues to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation for tropical plant species.
6. Facility Maintenance: Assist in the general upkeep and cleanliness of the greenhouse facility, including sweeping, organizing supplies, and ensuring a safe and orderly environment for both employees and customers.
Qualifications:
- Passion for plants, particularly tropical varieties, and a keen interest in horticulture.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for effective inventory management.
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills to interact confidently with customers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and collaborative work ethic.
- Previous experience working with tropical plants or in a similar nursery or greenhouse environment is advantageous but not required.
Physical Requirements:
This role involves working in a greenhouse environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and natural light conditions. The ability to lift and move plants and supplies is essential.
Work Schedule:
This is a seasonal position, typically requiring weekend shifts, especially during peak seasons or special events. Our greenhouse is typically open from mid-March to the end of October.

Salary: $15.00-$18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
