Job description

Are you a manager that thrives in driving a cohesive vision cross the department while leading a portfolio of hyper-focused Product Managers? Do you enjoy serving a purpose that is deeply connected to our shoppers or employees, and their Best Buy experience? If yes, that come join Best Buy Canada’s product team!

Our group Product Manager role provides strong product-led leadership for the future of the group roadmap in a product model, in partnership with business stakeholders, engineering, agile & design experts. Groups at Best Buy Canada consist of cross-functional teams, each with their own Product Manager and own roadmap. Each group has complimentary teams that are working independently but cover similar areas of our customers’ journey.

We practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions at our head office, in beautiful Vancouver, BC, for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

Make a difference on our Product team as a groupproduct manager.

What you’ll do as a Group Product Manager:

  • Hire & lead Product Managers for your group using the role of manager, coach or mentor as appropriate

  • Partner with key stakeholders to align the portfolio with the company strategy, without overshadowing the Product Manager’s relationship

  • Be in sync with your engineering partner, the software development lead, to ensure the group of products is staffed appropriately and delivering as expected

  • Manage a substantial profit and loss (P&L) budget for your product group’s resources, licenses, and spend

  • Build a culture of product enthusiasts, driving strategy and providing vision and direction in all your interactions

  • Be a people manager, a portfolio roadmap advisor, and a product expert in your group’s domain.

What we are looking for:

  • 7-10 years in product management experience, with demonstrated increasing seniority

  • Experience driving large scale initiatives to successful outcomes

  • People leadership experience with recruitment, hiring, coaching & mentorship

  • Familiarity working in an agile software development environment and building products that go to production every sprint

  • Demonstrated ability to discuss, understand, and simplify technical concepts for stakeholders

  • Experience with retail product management, or employee toolsets is a plus

Why you’ll love it here:

  • Employee discounts on awesome tech from day one

  • Flexible health benefits and wellness program

  • TFSA and RRSP programs

  • 100% matched company pension plan

  • Training programs to build new and transferable skills

  • Access to professional internal coaches who are dedicated to your growth and success.
