FLIGHTCRAFT AVIATION SERVICES has a long year history of providing safe, best in class aviation ground handling services. As we grow, we are currently seeking candidates for a GSE Technician based in Edmonton, AB. This career is a part of the overall Flightcraft Team, and is an integral part of the Leadership Group within the company.
JOB SUMMARY:
The GSE Technician works under the direction of Management to ensure all aspects of GSE maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting are completed according to specific company policies and procedures. Inventory and asset management are key focuses of this position, working daily with our HIPPO asset management system. Safety, attention to detail, following company procedures, and team work are key components to be successful in this position.
This position runs from 4:00pm – 8:00pm when the equipment is not in use, with the potential for full time in the spring.
The ideal candidate must possess verbal and written communication skills, be energetic, outgoing, understanding and accepting of change. They must have a technical and mechanical skillset and be willing and able to troubleshoot GSE issues, and perform preventative and non-invasive GSE maintenance. He/She must also be flexible and able to deal with the adapting nature of aviation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Equipment cleaning, housekeeping, snow removal from GSE as required.
- Shop upkeep including cleaning, parts storage, inventory and organization.
- Complete preventative maintenance on GSE per the preventative maintenance program (oil/filter changes etc).
- Track and provide reports on GSE performance and deficiencies.
- Liaise with 3rd party support companies.
- Attend all required training sessions and successfully complete training courses.
- Touch up painting, cosmetic work, and overall appearance standards to be met.
- Data entry into Hippo (Asset Management Program) for GSE.
- Data entry into Hippo (Asset Management Program) for all inventory, parts, etc.
- Dialogue with local GSE support team members in stations (if available).
- Actively participate in company safety programs.
- Work as a team member in a SAFE, efficient, professional manner.
- Follow safe disposal requirements for hazardous products.
- Adhere to published uniform standards and requirements.
- Follow all safety guidelines and safe workplace procedures.
- Travel (air or road) as required to other FAS stations and sister company stations.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must have 2-3 years previous mechanical/small engine/diesel experience.
- Must have extensive asset/inventory management skills.
- Must be able to apply and secure an Airport Restricted Identification Card (RAIC).
- Must have valid driver's license with clean abstract.
- Ability to speak, write, and understand the English language.
- Previous airline and/or warehouse experience would be an asset.
- Must have sound understanding of parts inventory and cataloguing.
- Must have excellent team player competencies.
- Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of Google, Office, and Hippo Asset Management.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, and/or in a team environment, working varied and/or split shifts.
- Must be willing to adapt to the changing nature of aviation and work varied shifts when needed for operational reasons.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Additional Information
- $85.00 per year Protective Footwear Allowance.
- PPE required is provided to employee.
- 50/50 Cost Share on all uniform pieces.
