Health And Safety Office / Flagger

We are looking for an Experienced Health and Safety Officer / Flagger to join our team.

Position: Experienced Health and Safety Officer / Flagger Job Type: As needed

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Holding Health and Safety Meetings (Monthly);

* Critiquing paperwork to determine Flagging / lane closure requirements on specific routes; If required, ensure these job sites are within the guidelines of Traffic Management for work on roadways;

* Ensuring all Key Largo crews and job sites are WCB compliant;

* Supporting field crew on a daily basis with lane closers and Flagging.

* Reporting to the Crew Lead (s) for duties

* Working in Coordination with Apprentices, Electricians, Trades, and the general public.

* Performing COR Audits;

* Critical thinking

* Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS

* Extensive knowledge of Traffic Management to work on Roadways

* 2 years minimum flagging experience

* A valid full BC drivers license - minimum Class 5

* Ability to lift, push and pull up to 100 lbs.

* Ability to stand for long periods

* Time Management skills

* Organizational skills

* Strong written and oral communication skills

* Computer knowledge, especially Microsoft Excel

* Ability to take direction well

* Ability to work efficiently on own and with others as a team member.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

* 2nd-year Health and Safety Officer or better - Certification

* Health and Safety COR Certificate

* Minimum of 2 years of trade experience

* Flagging Certification

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

* Resume with a cover letter (outlining the above requirements and

* Copy of Flagging / Health and Safety certificates

* Current Driver's Abstract

* Three References - from previous employers.

AFTER HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

* Drug and Alcohol Pre-Screening

* BC Criminal Records Check

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $24.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
