- Perform basic client care tasks to meet client care needs in accordance with company policies, procedures and nursing standards.
- Provide light housekeeping, and/or provide companionship and personal care.
- Help clients with their ADL's (Activities of Daily Living) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide.
- Assist clients with transfers, ambulation and exercises.
- Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly.
- Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.
Qualifications
Registration with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory is required. Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in the English language. Two years of recent Health Care Aide experience with the geriatric population and people with a disability. Must be knowledgeable of methods of transfer and be capable of transferring and supporting clients. Must be able to adhere to safe work practices and procedures and is responsible for maintaining self-wellness and reduced absenteeism.
