Licensed Practical Nurse – Part-Time/Full-Time

We are committed to providing an exceptional level of care for our patients and are recruiting for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acts as direct liaison between patient and physician to answer patient questions and facilitate treatment plan outlined by Radiologist.
- Maintain professionalism and standard of practice during all aspect’s patient care.
- Strong ability to read and interpret nonverbal communication.
- MUST be willing to travel between several clinical sites.
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor while working under pressure in fast paced environment.
- Be fully knowledgeable about company procedures and standards.
- Understand all clinical procedures allowing accurate patient information.
- Creates an exceptional patient experience by providing professional and compassionate care.
- Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions, and maintaining the clinical area.
- Reviews procedures for appropriateness and patient eligibility.
- Obtains patient history and educate patients on exam procedures.
- Compiles information by monitoring patients' progress; evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions; and assists in the administration of medication and observes and documents therapeutic effects.
- Instruct patients and their families by providing safety and health education; provide pre-procedural and post-procedural personal and comfort care; and consult with members of the healthcare team.
- Operate medical equipment to perform nursing interventions such as taking vital signs, applying aseptic techniques including sterile dressing and ensuring infection control.
- Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information at all times.
- Always act in a manner that ensures the client’s dignity, safety, privacy, and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized LPN program with College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) registration/practice permit.
- Active BLS certification.
- Superior intravenous skills required – minimal training provided.
- Phlebotomy certification or willingness to complete venipuncture course within 3 months of start date.
- Exceptional understanding of musculoskeletal system including kinetics and dermatomal patterns.
- Keen desire for continuous, self-directed learning.
- Experience in Pain Management or Orthopedics an asset.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to deal effectively with patients and their families, co-workers, and other Health Care staff.
- Strong sense of personal and professional accountability, flexibility, and initiative to achieve high quality examinations and overall functioning of the department.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Patient-focused orientation and the ability to provide excellent patient care.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and work well under pressure.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office products, e-mail, and the internet.
