As a Health and Wellness Facilitator, you will be responsible for designing, planning and instruction/facilitation of specialized wellness sessions requiring the development of skill base and knowledge in the topic area. Primary duties include:
  • Teach specific strategies and techniques through sharing of knowledge.
  • Plan and implement quality dementia strategies.
  • Assess participant needs and provide adaptations as necessary.
  • Ensure safety of participants.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of equipment, supplies and program space.
  • Maintain program records and assist with program evaluation.
  • Maintain high degree of customer service.
 
Qualifications 
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Previous training, leadership, instructional expertise and/or lived experience in Dementia Specialty is required.
  • Success in this role requires demonstrated ability in assessing participant needs and determining adaptations as necessary.
  • Excellent oral communication skills along with demonstrated initiative, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Sound judgement in safety standards and well-developed customer service skills.
Pre-employment Requirements 
  • Current Intermediate First Aid certification (equivalent to Standard First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) level C, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is required.
  • A valid Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Search must be provided. Date of completion must be within the last 12 months.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
  • Applicants may be contacted, interviewed, and hired throughout the duration of this competition.

Position Type: Up to 2 On-Call positions.  
Location: Various 
Compensation:  Facilitator Level 1 $30.00 - 40.00
Days of Work: This position works various
shifts including daytime, evening and weekends. 
Hours of work: On-Call hours will vary based on operational requirements.
