As a Health and Wellness Facilitator, you will be responsible for designing, planning and instruction/facilitation of specialized wellness sessions requiring the development of skill base and knowledge in the topic area. Primary duties include:
- Teach specific strategies and techniques through sharing of knowledge.
- Plan and implement quality dementia strategies.
- Assess participant needs and provide adaptations as necessary.
- Ensure safety of participants.
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of equipment, supplies and program space.
- Maintain program records and assist with program evaluation.
- Maintain high degree of customer service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Previous training, leadership, instructional expertise and/or lived experience in Dementia Specialty is required.
- Success in this role requires demonstrated ability in assessing participant needs and determining adaptations as necessary.
- Excellent oral communication skills along with demonstrated initiative, planning, and organizational skills.
- Sound judgement in safety standards and well-developed customer service skills.
Pre-employment Requirements
- Current Intermediate First Aid certification (equivalent to Standard First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) level C, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is required.
- A valid Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Search must be provided. Date of completion must be within the last 12 months.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
