Heavy Duty Equipment Technician

SILOKING feed mixers are manufactured in Germany and are very well respected throughout the world:

· Job duties

Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required

Troubleshoot and inspect equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions

Verify, Inspect and repair emission control- and exhaust treatment systems

Test drive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults

Adjust, trouble shoot, repair or replace parts and components on feed trucks and engines. It includes fuel injection system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust system, cooling system, Air conditioning system, lubrication system, engine control system, hydraulic system, electrical and electronic systems, major internal engine repairs or overhaul. Using hand tools and other specialized repair equipment.

Test and adjust repaired systems according to manufacturer's performance specifications

Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications, etc.

Advise customers on work performed, general feed truck condition and future repair requirements.

Check over equipment and give list of labour and parts to Service Manager

Additional Skills:

Instruct apprentices; Keep maintenance reports and documentation, Welding experience, Perform repair work on heavy trucks; Attach components and adjust new farm equipment.

· Experience required: 3 years to less than 5 years

· Education required: Registered Apprenticeship certificate for Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technology/Technician

· Terms of employment (e.g. full-time, permanent position): Permanent employment, Full-time position

· Hours of work per week:

Work weeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Be part of the On-Call team on weekends and over holidays
