Requirements:
- 10+ years of machine operating experience is an asset
- valid class 5 drivers' license
- Knowledge of operation of all types of Heavy equipment
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of two-way radios
- Have a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude towards all employees, students, and company equipment
- Able to work in various weather conditions (outdoors, off-site location, etc.)
- Assertive by working well with others and independently
- Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and hand signals
- Detailed orientated and organized
- Some travelling required
- Strong work ethic
Job Tasks:
- Training students in safety, maintenance, and operation in the Heavy equipment industry
- Take directions and follow instructions
- Operate equipment such as excavator, wheel loader, loader backhoe, dozer, grader, articulated rock truck, and skid steer
- Attend and occasionally lead a tool box safety meeting
- Ensure that all activities are carried out with a due regarding personal safety, the safety of others, and in line with the company policies and procedures
- Communicate any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to the C.E.O./Lead Instructor or Office Administrator
- Taking initiative to show students lubricating points on equipment
- Refill equipment tanks as required
- Secure special attachments to equipment as required
- Conduct daily pre-operational checks on equipment
- Diagnose and perform minor repairs to equipment if needed
- General job set up and site clean up
- Maintain a safe job site and keep an eye out for safety hazards
- Provide safe, prompt, and efficient support to assigned projects
- Occasionally picking up equipment parts or fluids if needed
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Salary: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
