Reporting to the Supervisor of Board-Owned Bus Services or designate, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and performing repairs on the fleet of busses and other vehicles owned and operated by the NL English School District. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. The candidate will also be responsible for inspecting and issuing reports as required by the District and Department of Highways and all other agencies/departments having jurisdiction.
Applicants must have completion of high school and possess a Journeyperson’s Certificate as a mechanic (preferably Heavy Equipment or Commercial Transport) issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador supplemented with experience in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Equivalent combinations of training and experience will be considered. Applicants may be required to obtain a valid Class 2 Driver’s License with airbrake endorsement. Training in First Aid and/or other safety-related courses would be considered assets.
