Host (Seasonal)

The Host is a part time, seasonal (May to September) position to work under the Food & Beverage department and reporting to the Front & Beverage Operations Manager. The working hours will vary from weekdays and weekends and holidays (morning, mid, and evenings shifts).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as hosts in the restaurant by greeting and seating guests promptly. Responsible for answering restaurant telephone, answering inquiries, taking and maintaining reservations.
• Assist servers with food delivery and ensuring food presentation and quality are to standard.
• Responsible for floor maintenance which includes assisting servers in the prompt reset of tables and the set-up, monitoring, and take down of buffets.
• Solicit feedback and concerns from team members and guests. Work with managers to create and implement solutions for greater guest and staff satisfaction.
• Adhere to local liquor and health & safety laws.
• Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1 year food & beverage experience in a dining room preferred
• Serving it Right Certification
• Food Safe preferred
• Pro-active and a demonstrated eye for detail
• Able to take initiative, self starter
• Able to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities at once
• Strong guest service skills essential
• Team player and enthusiastic attitude
• Previous experience with Micros or a similar POS system a definite asset
• Must be able to lift/push up to 40 lbs
