JANITORIAL HOUSEPERSON
1. Ensure the cleanliness of all public areas of the hotel
2. Complete and thorough cleaning of public washrooms, including toilets, sinks, counters, mirrors, walls, floors, empty garbage and restock supplies and any other requirement to ensure cleanliness for our guests
3. Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors, including polishing and clean mirrors, room numbers on guest room doors, and elevator doors.
4. Vacuum, sweep, and/or mop hallways, stairwells, ledges,vending areas, and foyers.
5. Immediately report any damage or items requiring repairs to your manager and manager on duty. Use of Quore app.
6. Carry out repeat cleaning as required due to weather conditions/traffic flow/human action in order to maintain standards of cleanliness and presentation in public areas. Includes shovelling snow and salting walkways.
7. Carry out deep cleaning duties as directed by the Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor on duty.
8. Understand the correct usage and storage of cleaning agents in line with health and safety regulations (WHMIS) and manufacturer’s instructions.
9. Ensure full use of hazard awareness signs to alert guests/team members to potential hazards such as wet floors resulting from the cleaning process.
10. Monitor and maintain cleanliness of pool area. Securing locks, brushing pool as required and testing water as instructed. Do readings as required on pool water.
11. Walk outside of building to pick up garbage, empty garbage containers, at least twice during your shift.
12. Straighten patio furniture outside and on pool deck.
13. Use and clean and store equipment with care reporting any defective equipment
14. Carry out opening and closing procedures while ensuring accurate completion of any task lists/reports as required in the role of House Person.
15. Respond to radio requests from Guest Services to ensure a timely response to guest needs. This may include providing assistance to guests and also requests for additional housekeeping supplies or requests.
16. Report any lost and found to guest services and housekeeping for storage of such items.
17. Assist in the set-up, cleaning and break down of meeting rooms as requested.
18. Remove garbage from designated area on a daily basis.
19. Operation of the garbage compactor as instructed.
20. Assist in the receiving, storage and distribution of supplies and deliveries as per required.
21. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
22. Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
23. Report for work in clean and pressed uniform with professional appearance.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES to assist Housekeepers as instructed:
24. Flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned by supervisor.
25. Empty room attendant carts of soiled linen and trash.
26. Assist in the stripping of beds, collection and delivery of linen and towlels from/to the floors.
24. Stock linen closets with amenities and supplies for room attendants; may include taking supplies directly to room attendants.
28. Carry out cleaning of areas within the property as laid down in the daily/weekly cleaning schedule
29. Carry out the duties of a Room Attendant as required by business demands achieving the speed and standards of cleanliness/presentation as set in company policy.
30. Must be available at least 2 evenings a week and weekends. Must be available on weekends also. Some day shifts may be available.
31. Must be capable of using QUORE app on your smart phone.
32 Must complete GHS training for our hotel upon hire
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $17.55 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
