POSTING: HEU Posting 095H23
STATUS: Regular Full Time
WORK AREA: Central City Lodge/Cooper Place – Support Services Department
HOURS: 75 Hours Bi-Weekly (1.0 FTE)
07:00-15:00 *may be required to work afternoons and nights on occasion
Days off; Tuesday and Wednesday
SALARY: $30.06 Per Hour

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Manager, Support Services, this position supervises daily housekeeping operations at Central City Lodge and Cooper Place including supervising housekeeping aides, ART monitors/housekeeping aides and laundry aids to ensure required standards are met. Schedules and coordinates work assignments, and verifies timekeeping for payroll purposes. Maintains linen, housekeeping and equipment inventories and supplies, ordering and receiving supplies, and maintaining related records. Reviews housekeeping equipment maintenance requests with the Manager and arranges for repairs. Carries out related administrative duties and assumes the duties of supervised staff as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and Experience

Grade 12 education plus four (4) years’ recent related experience, including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

DUTIES

1. Supervises the daily operation of support services to ensure the required standards are maintained by performing such duties as defining duties, assigning work and scheduling housekeeping, laundry, and ARP monitors/housekeeping staff in accordance with scheduling procedures.

2. Updates working schedules, processes scheduling changes, and records all absentee calls. Verifies timesheets for the purposes of payroll

3. Recommends changes to facility décor such as painting and repairs, replacements or additions to furnishings, and recommending relocation of furniture or equipment.

4. Establishes and maintains linen inventory, oversees replacements and repairs, and maintains related records.

5. Maintains inventory control of housekeeping and laundry supplies. Orders supplies and minor equipment such as small wares and parts, maintains purchase records, liaising with suppliers as required. Receives orders, distributes housekeeping and laundry supplies, and ensures housekeeping and laundry equipment and supplies are used and stored in a safe and efficient manner.

6. Reviews housekeeping equipment maintenance requests with the Manager, as required, and contacts equipment repair companies to request service calls. Oversees contractors for small repair jobs.

7. Coordinates pest control services, arranging for extra cleaning if required.

8. Coordinates move-ins such as arranging for laundry services and the cleaning and sanitizing of personal and other items.

9. Assumes the duties of a housekeeping aide, laundry aide, A.R.P. monitor/housekeeping aide as required.

10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

*Experience working in a unionized workplace is an asset
