We have an immediate requirement for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our HR team for a six months to one year term assignment with possible extension , located on-site at our Jansen Discovery Lodge near Jansen, Saskatchewan.

This 1200 guest workforce accommodation camp serves employees and contractors of BHP’s Jansen potash mine. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who brings initiative, flexibility, and teamwork to this exciting and challenging opportunity.

The HR Coordinator will be the local HR resource for one of our largest camp services operations. Supported by the HR team in Calgary, this position is responsible for partnering with the site leadership team and will act as an ambassador for new hire onboarding to enhance workforce engagement.

Jansen, SK

Role will be working on a rotational basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead on-site new hire orientation and support employees to ensure required documentation including payroll and benefits enrollment are received;
• Act as our HR Ambassador for new hires by providing a welcoming an open-door approach for Wicehtowak Frontec Services employees;
• Partner with onsite Indigenous representative in building a strong relationship built by trust, communication and teamwork;
• Communicate effectively with the Recruitment team throughout onboarding process and daily activities;
• Administer and coordinate new hire pre-employment requirements such as Security Clearances, Alcohol and Drug testing with candidate and external vendors;
• Track and report recruitment and retention statistics and fulfill site reporting requirements;
• Build partnerships with leaders to understand the business requirements and provide end-to-end recruitment services, advice, and support in a variety of human resources functions;
• Support relationships with stakeholders to enable effective recruitment from the local area;
• Coordinate offboarding activities including exit interviews;
• Lend investigative support to Operations and bring forward employee relations issues;
• Provide outstanding customer service to employees and managers within client groups;
• Investigate and respond to Time and Attendance, Payroll, and Record of Employment inquiries.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• 2-3 years of progressive experience in similar roles;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including, written, verbal and presentation;
• Sound organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills and ability to manage multiple priorities;
• Experience in conflict resolution skills;
• Experience in a union environment will be considered an asset;
• Proficiency with Oracle or similar HRIS applications as well as Applicant Tracking Systems;
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing business requirements;
• Post-secondary degree in Human Resources or related course work complemented with 2 or more years of experience in an HR or recruitment role. A combination of education and experience may be considered;
• Experience in working with Indigenous partners is an asset;
• Preference will be given to candidates who have a CPHR designation or are pursuing their designation.
