Position: Human Resources Generalist
Location: Banff, Alberta
Compensation: Competitive compensation TBD with annual inflationary adjustments

Who we are:
Mount Norquay Ski Resort (Norquay) is located in the world-renowned Banff National Park. Our
operations are year-round, offering skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing adventures in the winter for
our guests, and breathtaking sightseeing, and exhilarating Via Ferrata experiences in the summer.
Additionally, our majestic location is the backdrop to unforgettable wedding celebrations and other
events. We are an expanding our business and are excited for the possibilities with the recently acquired
Banff Historical Train Station.

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and qualified Human Resources Generalist to join us as we
expand and grow our business. The candidate will need to be eager, knowledgeable and up to helping us
further develop our HR policies and processes. Norquay has a fun and close-knit friendly crew of
employees that focus on excellent guest experiences and, whom all together contribute to its success.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Act as key point of contact for employee and managers for all HR-related requests,
questions, and concerns including but not limited to benefits, company policies, employee
relations, and employment laws (provincial and federal);
  • Data entry and employee record management, including assisting the entry of new hires
and employment changes
  • Managing WCB claims and OH&S related issues
  • Liaising with applicable authorities and other contacts for the hiring of employees through
the Temporary Foreign Worker Program and coordinating activities related to Labour
Market Impact Assessments (LMIA)
  • Responsible for the administration of benefits plan, including proactively managing and
auditing employee data, responding to queries from employees, disability claims
management and return-to-work processes
  • Create documentation and manage all internal processes related to new hires, employment
changes, terminations, etc.
  • Supporting recruitment plans by developing job postings, reviewing resumes, and
interviewing qualified candidates with department managers
  • Ensure all HR activities are conducted in compliance with provincial and federal
employment legislation
  • Assist with research and compliance initiatives regarding Human Resources issues
  • Review and recommend changes where required to ensure that HR processes and practices
are effective and efficient
  • Assist with the updating of company policy and procedures with revisions when needed to
ensure compliance with employment guidelines/laws
  • Provide assistance in the performance management process, employee relations matters,
and other HR initiatives as required
  • Reports to General Manager and VP of Finance
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education
  • Graduation with a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable
specialization in human resources, or in any other field relevant to the work to be
performed.
  • Certified Human Resources Profession (CHRP) designation or working towards designation
would be considered an asset.
Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a related or similar role
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of local, provincial and federal employment laws and regulations
  • Strong knowledge of human resources management best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exercises judgment and professionalism when handling confidential information
