Reporting directly to Sr. Manager, Total Rewards & Talent Development, the HR Program Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of various HR programs within our organization. This multifaceted position involves collaborating with HR teams, management, and employees to facilitate the successful implementation of HR initiatives.

The successful candidate will be essential in ensuring a well-functioning and harmonious work environment that promotes employee growth and engagement.

This role is a Temporary full-time Maternity Leave position in our Calgary or Sherwood Park corporate office.

What would you be doing?
  • Implementation and Administration of the Learning Management System and e-content.
  • Review of external training programs and managing the organizational training budget.
  • Oversee Corporate Apprenticeship Program, including the Apprenticeship Financial Assistance Program.
  • Work with Marketing for Corporate internal communications including but not limited to internal magazine issues and internal notifications.
  • Design, develop and deliver specific training programs to ensure competency and development of workforce, including the creation of learning streams and competency matrix for all positions.
  • Creating, promoting, and supporting in-house career development programs including but not limited to the Management Trainee Program, Mentorship Programs, and Learning Development plans.
  • Lead the organization performance management process and execution by ensuring rating are appropriately calibrated.
  • Auditing of performance management plans and providing individualized coaching to managers.
  • Identify and implement processes and auditing tools to ensure transfers, new hires and existing employees have the appropriate competencies for their roles.
  • In collaboration with organizational leaders, design and manage corporate surveys
  • Manage Corporate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, including Employee Resource Groups and Corporate Training.
Does this sound like you?
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Industrial and/or Oil & Gas background is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or a related diploma is required. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • CPHR designation, or working towards, preferred.
  • Professional Coaching designation preferred.
  • Ability to quickly develop strong relationships with team members and operational client groups.
  • Ability to build and develop the skill sets of the Supervisors and Managers with whom they work.
  • Flexible to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances, having a high tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Possess personal leadership and strong change management skills.
  • Excellent business acumen skills to provide superior customer service to internal client groups.
