About the Role

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for full-cycle recruitment of candidates for our operations team to create strong talent pipelines for the company’s current and future hiring needs. Developing recruiting plans and using a multitude of sourcing strategies, you have the ability to shape the company’s future through our people. You will achieve this through the following objectives:

  • Consult with Operation Supervisors to identify resourcing needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills to develop and execute a recruiting plan.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Pay Equity, Human Rights and Employment Standard guidelines and selection.
  • Create recruiting and interviewing plans for each role to fill open positions efficiently and effectively.
  • Create job postings for internal and external advertising within various professional organizations and other appropriate venues, including all social media platforms, to develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
  • Maintain hiring requisitions and prepare reports on recruitment metrics.
  • Determine selection procedures including screening calls, assessments, interviews, and complete reference checks.
  • With support from Manager, Human Resources, recruit Temporary Foreign Workers.
  • Lead employer branding initiatives for Connors Bros.
  • Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events.
  • Conduct company onboarding to ensure candidates are set-up for success.
  • Prepare employee records to ensure all necessary documentation has been submitted during the onboarding process.
  • Implement employee surveys for new employees within the first 60 days and conduct exit interviews to understand improvement opportunities for employee engagement.

What You Need to Succeed

  • University graduate preferably in Human Resources Management.
  • Experience in recruitment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with social media and recruitment strategies
  • Comfortable presenting to large groups and developing professional networks.
  • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATSs)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
