Raven Transfers is a small Ottawa based Funeral Transfer Service, looking to fill both full-time and part-time Funeral Transfer positions. We are seeking mature, compassionate individuals who possess the following skills and abilities. Experience in the funeral industry is preferred but not required. Preference will be given towards licensed Funeral Directors which may also consist of additional duties (depending on experience and qualifications).

Under the direction of licensed funeral directors and health professionals, Raven Transfers is responsible for the safe and appropriate transportation of individuals from the place of death to a funeral establishment, hospital or cremation facility.

• No criminal record
• Valid driver’s license
• Sense of responsibility, accountability, and the self-motivation to work independently
• Clear communication skills and capacity to work well within a team
• Active and physically fit with the ability to lift 100 lbs

Job details:

• Transporting Human Remains from place of death (i.e. hospital, private residence, long-term care facility, scene of accident) to a funeral establishment, hospital or cremation facility. This makes up the majority of the job.
• Driving, washing and maintaining transfer vehicles and stock.
• Providing support to funeral homes when necessary (i.e. funeral assistance, driving, parking attendant).
• Working up to 40 hours/week with combination of day, evening, weekend and on-call shifts
• Additional duties for licensed funeral director, to be discussed.
