The Canadian Light Source is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Projects Assistant (Summer Student) within the Human Resources Division. Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Consultant, this position will be a full-time summer position starting on Wednesday, May 1st, and concluding on Friday, August 30th, or as discussed with the direct supervisor.
Position Summary:
- The Human Resources Projects Assistant will support the administration of CLS Human Resources projects, programs, and services.
- Participates in the development and implementation of specific HR projects aligned with FY2025 strategic tactics and operational goals. This may include projects such as: supporting critical skills/succession planning and supporting the implementation of EDI initiatives.
- Assists in the provision of frontline administrative support for employee inquiries.
- Assists with the administration, development, and revision of Human Resource policies, procedures, and forms.
- Assists with the preparation of a variety of confidential documents, reports and correspondence within a variety of software programs; demonstrates tact and diplomacy when handling sensitive information.
Qualifications:
- Upper year Commerce student, majoring in Human Resources Management.
- Familiarity with computer applications, specifically the Microsoft 365 and Office Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the organization.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality relating to sensitive employee information.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent attention to details.
- Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
