In-Person Tutoring

We are looking for a reliable tutor to assist a 11th-grade student in-person struggling with math. The student resides in the vicinity of Major Oaks Road and requires additional help once a week for an hour, starting on February 26, 2024

The tutor will be working directly with the student in person on one-on-one basis, providing the help they need with grade 11 math, college prep.

Our ideal candidate would have worked professionally or tutored with school-age students in the past or has the knowledge required to teach for a grade 11 math

Tutor Duties and Responsibilities

• Discuss what problem the students need help with
• Explain and teach the student in an easy-to-understand way
• Provide encouragement and positive motivation
• May have to prepare materials specific to upcoming assignment or test
• Prepare the student for tests
• Collaborate with parents and teachers to evaluate student needs
• Review their work or assignment prior to the lesson you teach
• Send in the student’s progress report at the end of each month.
• Send in your hours you tutored the student

Tutor Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher
• Proficient in the subject applying for
• Experience working with children and teens
• Able to work after school hours, nights, or weekends
• Excellent communication and written skills
• Have a high-level patience,
• Have understanding and make the lesson a positive experience
• Able to keep the lesson enjoyable and engaging
• Build rapport with the student
• Agree to have an 18 or older adult present when tutoring in person
• Arrive on time that is scheduled
• Preferably have access to a car or reside near the area where the student is and use public transit

Job Type: Freelance

Salary: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 per week
