THE BUSINESS: B. A. Sheahan & Associates Ltd. is an established bookkeeping and tax preparation firm, located near Uptown Mall in Saanich BC. We are a dynamic and growing business with a large volume of small business and personal tax clients. We provide bookkeeping and payroll services, as well as personal and corporate tax preparation, GST and PST filings and many other related services to our clientele. The owners are well experienced in the business and are supported by a group of highly-skilled bookkeepers who are proficient in utilizing the latest technologies to provide our clients with timely and accurate reporting.

THE POSITION: We are seeking an individual to represent the firm in our client interactions, whether on the telephone or in-office visits. This individual will be personable, capable and provide our clients with the feeling that they are in good hands with our firm. As the first contact, we rely on this individual to bring professionalism, organization and client service to every contact with our clientele.

The successful candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, be comfortable in computer skills and have technical skills with telephone systems, print and copy machine and other office equipment, including POS machine.

DUTIES:

Reception: Answer telephones, distribute calls and take messages

Greet clients, escort to meeting room

Receive and distribute mail and e-mail correspondence

Maintain calendar and book appointments

Maintain filing systems, both paper and electronic

Tax season: Ensure new clients receive proper intake

Set up clients in Profile, arrange authorization

Maintain intake log of tax files in process

Maintain records of payments and e-filing of returns

Receive and send e-mails regarding tax matters

Ensure client signoff is in place before e-filing returns

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $23.00 per hour

Education:

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

• Income Tax Preparation: 2 years (required)
• Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
