The Friends is recruiting Independent Living Assistants in the Bracebridge area for the Seniors Assisted Living and Supportive Housing programs. These programs support seniors living and in their own homes to age in place by providing some assistance with safety/med checks, meal preparation and personal care. If you are looking for meaningful work to make a difference in the lives of others, we provide comprehensive training, support and an inclusive team environment.

Independent Living Assistants provide service to individuals with physical disabilities and/or seniors by supporting them with personal care, activities of daily living and encouraging/facilitating client ability to gain/maintain independence.

Qualifications:

• interest/experience supporting seniors and adults with physical disabilities living in their own home with health care needs
• background/training in health related field such as PSW/DSW/SSW is preferred but not necessary
• understanding of and commitment to Independent Living and client right to direct their own care
• excellent physical strength and stamina
• ability to work with direction and independently
• strong verbal and written communication skills
• sound judgement and discretion in confidential matters
• reliable vehicle

*There is a $3/hour wage enhancement that is included in the wage range listed
above.

*Travel time and mileage paid between all client visits

Job Type: Casual

Salary: $22.00-$24.91 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
