Industrial Tech Representative

Opportunity

We are looking to add to our team for our Industrial Sales Group. As our business continues to grow, we have a great opportunity for the right individual. as an Industrial Tech Representative in Southern Ontario.

The TSR will demonstrate a strong practical knowledge of industrial coating chemistries, pretreatment, surface cleaning, application equipment, application and curing processes, industry test methods, environmental considerations and a general understanding of auxiliary manufacturing processes related to finishing.

The TSR will work directly with Cloverdale’s High Performance Technical Group, based in Ontario and Winnipeg, to optimize current technologies and assist in the development and commercialization of new product technologies.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Comply with company policies, guidelines and initiatives
• Develop rapport at all levels within accounts, build strong customer relationships
• Initial contact to receive and resolve customer concerns in a timely fashion
• Initial contact to receive and answer technical concerns or questions related to products
• Troubleshoot problems related to finishing operations at customers facilities
• Conduct customer line audits
• Work collaboratively with Sales and Technical Groups to assist in the development of project scopes and constraints; provide insight on market needs / expectations / opportunities
• Assist General Industrial and High Performance Technical Group’s in development stages of various projects, as required
• Assist Sales in launching new products through facilitating product introduction and training sessions
• Provide value to customers through superior technical service; troubleshooting, on-site and video product knowledge training, SOP development, develop Application Guidelines and Recommendations, improving transfer efficiencies, lowering WIP, improving cycle times, lower reject rates and optimize coating appearance on the customer’s production line
• Continual learning of contemporary chemistries, equipment & processes
• Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) where required in the primary Territory

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the industrial paint and coatings industry
• High school Diploma
• Valid Drivers License and excellent driving record\
• Ability to travel 50-75% of the time, primarily within the region with some requirement for overnight travel
• Computer literate: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
• Excellent documentation/reporting skills
• Comfortable in one-on-one and group presentations as either a support or lead function
• Ability to clearly articulate customer requirements, processes and activities to internal departments
• Highly focused on customer service and attention to detail.
• Team focused and results oriented - can easily manage customer priorities
• Self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision

Preferred Skills

• Finishing Line Manager or Lead Hand, 3+ years experience
• NACE Level 1
