Data and digital refers to using information and information technology, such as hospital information systems and electronic medical records, as well as innovation platforms and analytics solutions to improve the healthcare system. Technology advances over the last decade open up new uses for information not only to access health information for care, but also big data and artificial intelligence, genomics, population health, precision medicine, and more.
The ministry's Information Management Strategy and Policy Branch leads the development and implementation of data strategy and policy across all sectors of healthcare and plays a key role in designing new health system approaches to data to transform our citizens' experience of healthcare and push the boundaries of health innovation.
Who we are looking for:
The Branch is seeking an Information Management Policy Assistant. We are looking for a mission-driven self-starter with multidisciplinary abilities and creative, lateral thinking skills; a strategic and creative thinker that excels at tackling complex and interesting problems; an excellent collaborator with an ability to adapt, learn quickly and take charge in a dynamic and fluid start-up type environment.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will provide comprehensive research and analytical support and coordination for a broad range of health system data strategy and policy initiatives and support stakeholder engagement and communications activities.
In this role you will:
• Provide a range of research support functions including reviewing literature and conducting environmental scans and seeking expert advice from stakeholders and prepare research, analytical reports and presentations to summarize findings
• Participate in the development and implementation of communication strategies and stakeholder engagement and consultation activities
• Review and assess project plans against project milestones, deliverables and budget and provide quality review for all major deliverables of projects
• Develop and maintain program related information resources and assist in the identification of training needs and develop corresponding training materials and sessions

You can identify emerging and potentially contentious issues, based on your experience and professional knowledge, before they grow into a crisis. You have strong communication skills.

Leadership and Project Management:

You work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. You are organized and can manage multiple priorities as part of the accomplishment of a project or initiative. You set high standards of performance and hold yourself accountable for results and actions.
