The Research Institute in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (RIDSAI) at UNB multiplies research in data science and AI, creates opportunities for interdisciplinary innovation, and provides a systematic mechanism for applied research partnerships. The Institute fully aligns with the university strategic plan, increasing UNB's research impact through increased research grants, enabling UNB to address major societal challenges, increasing the research productivity of UNB's faculty, and providing an opportunity to remove biases in current AI and data science research models.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week
Salary Range: $66,834 - $86,881 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Director, the Innovation Director plays a key role in supporting the establishment and growth of the RIDSAI. This position supports the Director through supporting the management of the institute, partner development, and financial planning and financial management.
- Assist in developing a strategic plan and in the creation of research reports and funding applications.
- Create schedules, workplans and budgets to implement strategic plans and projects.
- Act as liaison and build relationships with external partners, research members, and affiliates.
- Work with the Office of Research Services for the conceptualization and development of new partnerships and commercialization opportunities.
- Identify, apply for, and secure funding sources that can support these activities.
- Oversee the creation and update of websites, collateral, social media, etc. for marketing.
- Create industry briefing documents for the Institute team to orient activities and communications within research themes.
- Negotiate financials agreements with external partners.
- Assist in budgeting and management of funds for equipment, students, and employees.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and/or Computer Science.
- 5 years experience in administration in an information technology and/or R&D environment.
- Equivalent education and work experience may be considered.
Additional Strengths
- Master's degree in Business Administration and/or Computer Science would be preferred.
- Experience and expertise in marketing, client relationships, and budgeting.
- Strong communication and planning skills.
- An understanding of data science and artificial intelligence.
