Job Details

The Innovation Solutions Lead plays a key role in building early-stage solutions for the team, rapidly bringing new concepts to demo, functional prototype or proof of concept for user testing and feedback, while preparing for potential production deployment. They work directly with highly collaborative pods of Product Owners, Analysts, Designers and TD partners to help actualize design work and concepts.

As an Innovation Solutions Lead within Enterprise Innovation, you will have an opportunity to also explore emerging technologies, work with pods to explore new concepts, and test with users to improve customer experiences. This is a unique opportunity to work in a highly collaborative team, learn continuously, unleash your creativity, and move quickly leveraging our Innovation Framework.

Job Responsibilities:
? Work closely with product owners, analysts, Solutions Leads, and designers, and at times with TD lines of business, to develop extraordinary early-stage products and experiences
? Participate in collaborative team ideation sessions and contribute to invention opportunities using the TD Innovation Framework.
? Act as an internal expert resource in the exchange of technical information for project teams, and provide technical insight and recommendations to the business and/or outside vendors
? Rapidly develop your vision of a solution into functional demo or prototypes (for web and/or mobile)
? Continuously enhance knowledge / expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technologies, emerging trends / developments, and grow expertise of the business, applications, infrastructure analytical tools and techniques
? Investigate the potential of emerging and enabling technologies (e.g., GenAI, VR/AR, big data, platform features)
? Document and present innovation areas of opportunity to the team based on your own findings and experiences
? Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to quality, reusability and ease of maintenance
? Act as developer lead or consultant on a diverse range of activities (e.g., design, support of technical business solutions) and be relied upon to coach / educate and monitor the work of others for feasibility
? Assist in the assessment of the scope and risk of projects; work product owners and/or 3rd party vendors to ensure the development of broad project plans, budgets, and deliverables
? Promote your work at reviews with the Office of Patentable Innovation for assessment for patentability
? Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues / points of interest

Job Requirements

? Undergraduate or Graduate degree or Technical Certificate
? 7+ years of relevant development experience including:
? Object oriented programming languages
? iOS (Swift), Android, or Flutter (Dart) mobile development experience
? Web development experience (e.g., HTML, SCSS, ES6 JavaScript / Typescript, React, Vue, etc.)
? RESTful APIs (e.g., NodeJS, Express, etc)
? Experience with back-end cloud-based solutions (e.g., Azure, Firebase)
? Git version control
? Experience with an agile scrum methodology, and a user experienced focused development process
? Strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees
? Resourcefulness – understanding of whom to engage in order to identify solutions and resolve issues.
? Excellent judgment, impact and influence capability, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with leaders at all levels across a broad range of stakeholders
? Experience with TD technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines, business technology architecture, and risk and production capacity, an asset
? Expert knowledge of the business, the broader organization, technical environment, processes, procedures, tools and other relevant technology areas (e.g., Architecture, Infrastructure, Security etc.) from a design / support / solutions perspective, an asset

Additional Information

Location

Physically centered in Downtown Toronto but currently "Flexible Hybrid", with the expectation that employees are present in either our Kitchener or Toronto offices a minimum of two days per week.
