Summary

As a key member of GFL’s Business Development team, you will be committed to enhancing GFL client relationships and providing invaluable support to the Sales team. You will be relied upon to coordinate new business proposals with prospective and existing clients and will instill confidence in our customers that they are dealing with the industry leader. The chosen individual will thrive in this challenging, competitive, ever-changing business environment.

This position will be based in Alberta and offers flexibility with a hybrid work schedule.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sole management of smaller customers, including sales support (contact for services required) and customer service.

  • Acting as a liaison between Sales, Operation, Accounting and Office Staff

  • Allocating business to Account Managers based on customer needs.

  • Record maintenance of sales agreements/quotes via shared file for access by the sales team, and managing all required documentation, including updates and other department notifications

  • Facilitating complaint resolution by helping customers with their service issues and escalating to senior managers where required

  • Drafting quotes as directed by account managers or the Regional Sales Manager for the Hazardous Waste Division

  • Working with the Technical team for Inventoried Quotes

  • Special projects for Inside Sales Manager and AB Sales Manager

  • Administration for account managers, including Reporting, Customer History, Pricing History etc.

  • Acting as the lead for all sales related projects (Large rollbacks, pricing updates, corporate updates, etc.)

  • System updates, maintaining price list(s), Customer Specific requirements, pricing by account, and logging entries into the system as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service or sales focused role is preferred.

  • Experience in the environmental services industry would be an asset.

  • Post-secondary education in business or a related field is an asset.

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).

  • Exceptional customer service skills along with a strong sense of team.

  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, time management, and negotiation skills.

  • Computer literate with proficient use of customer database systems.
