Responsibilities:
· In addition to the responsibilities of the instrumentation Technician, this position is responsible for providing direction on work activities to a crew of Instrumentation Technicians.
· Work with a variety of pneumatic, electronic and microcomputer instruments used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force and chemical composition.
- Consult manufacturers’ manuals to determine test and maintenance procedures.
- Use pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices to inspect and test instrument and system operation, diagnose faults and tubing.
- Practice loss management principles.
- Consult with and advise process operators.
- Train apprentices.
- Repair, maintain and adjust system components or remove and replace defective parts.
- Conduct risk assessments.
- Calibrate and maintain components and instruments according to manufacturers’ specifications.
- Work with engineers on basic design.
- Install and maintain instruments on new or existing plant equipment and processes.
- Interpret and use appropriate CSA, ISA and API installation standards and practices.
- Maintains daily and clear communication with the District Manager on work tasks and Company policies and procedures.
- Ensures work tasks are understood before proceeding.
- Works safely on all assigned work tasks and follows instructions from the district manager.
- Ensures timesheets, packing slips and work tickets are accurate and are submitted.
- Trains assigned apprentices on work tasks.
- Schedules and coordinates manpower requirements.
- Completes daily, weekly and monthly safety documentation as required.
·Requirements:
- Journeyman Instrumentation Technician.
- Minimum 4 years related experience in an industrial setting.
- Ability to work safely and autonomously and provide direction to other journeymen and apprentices.
- Ability to provide explanations on work activities to onsite customer inquiries.
- Strong problem solving and communication skills.
