Insulation Installer

Chemong Home Hardware Building Centre is looking to hire experienced, hardworking and very detail-oriented Insulation Installers to join our Insulation team!

This full-time, year-round position offers benefits, RRSP, store discount, competitive wages based on experience and overtime.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Advance preparation and insulation of walls and other areas using materials such as BIBS and batt & poly insulation.
• Apply and secure insulation by blowing, pasting, strapping, taping and other applications and installation methods.
• Measure and cut insulating materials to required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret materials and equipment required for project from order forms.
• Prepare materials required for project, includes lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling materials weighting up to 50 lb.
• Follow load securement procedures to ensure no damaged product.
• General housekeeping and maintaining cleanliness throughout the warehouse, work vehicles, etc.
• Ensure tools and equipment are clean, functional and safe at all times.
• Ensure work area and storage area are clean and safe at all times.
• Follow procedures and maintain standards according to company policy.
• Provide excellent customer service when delivering products and/or supplies to customers, working on jobsites, etc.
• Report complaints from customers to management.
• Work on additional duties, special projects and assignments as assigned by the Insulation Manager.
• Attend company meetings, training sessions, etc. as required.
• Work in a safe manner in accordance to provincial and federal safety legislation, as well as use of good common sense.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 1 year of Insulation experience required.
• Previous General Labour experience an asset.
• Valid Ontario ‘G’ driver’s license required. Must maintain a good driving record and lawfully operate all company vehicles.
• Shift flexibility and willingness to work overtime depending on season, workload, etc.
• Competency with building tools and materials.
• Dedicated, hardworking and very detail-oriented.
• Excellent decision-making ability and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work co-operatively in a team atmosphere.
• Willingness to learn and continually develop professional skills and knowledge base.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Comfortable with heights.
• Comfortable working in small spaces.
• Please note: Reliable transportation is essential as Chemong Home Hardware Building Centre is not on a bus route.
