- Conduct Dutch Elm Disease vector surveillance, Monitor Insect biological control.
- Assist with trials on reduced-risk pest control products.
- Assist with EDRR Program, mapping and identification and mechanical control of legislated invasive weed species.
- Collect data and input information.
Working Conditions: This position is required to work outside in all types of weather conditions and in remote areas throughout Calgary.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Diploma or Degree program in Biological or Environmental Sciences.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than six demerits is required.
- Previous field work experience and/or basic familiarity with GPS systems and applications such as ArcGIS would be an asset.
- Attention to details and customer focus, planning, organizing and coordination, result orientation, and personal accountability are required for success in this role.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2024
- Must obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit.
- If invited to an interview, you will be asked to provide an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification letter (indicating the program and year you are currently completing).
