Intermediate Property Casualty Adjuster

J O B O P E N I N G

SCOPE:
The Intermediate Property Casualty plays
a fundamental role within Nova Mutual in
upholding our reputation as a Mutual that offers
exceptional claim experience to our Members,
Agents, and Brokers. This team member will be
evaluating, negotiating, and settling claims while
upholding the values of Nova. Standard office
hours with evening/weekend commitments
necessary from time to time for events, meetings,
and professional development related activities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Two-year commercial or technical college

WHAT WILL YOU BE UP TO?
• Evaluating, negotiating, and settling small

to medium, complex property and casualty
claims while upholding the values of Nova
Mutual.

• Providing the best possible experience for

the Members.

• Recovering funds through subrogation of

claims if warranted.

• Investigating claims by obtaining relevant

loss information from claimants, witnesses,
and vendors; to make decisions on
settlement.

• Gauging damages from information

provided by appraisers/vendors to determine
if claimed damages are reasonable, including
3rd party property damage.

• Evaluating the extent of the loss based

on investigation and review of coverage
determinations.

• Working with the Personal Lines

Underwriting team to identify possible risk
issues.

CORE CAPABILITIES:
• Excellent communication skills and able to

converse effectively with lawyers, expert
witnesses, and other stakeholders.

• Proficient in case investigation, gathering

relevant facts and identifying issues and
inconsistencies.

• Building and maintaining relationships with

authenticity and integrity.

• Ability to meet deadlines and present

information in a logical, professional manner.
