Our Thunder Bay location in Ontario, Canada is currently seeking talent to fill the position of IT Analyst, Ontario Wood Products. This job is permanent, full-time.

IT Analyst, Ontario Wood Products

Resolute Forest Products is seeking candidates for the position of IT Analyst for our Ontario Wood Products operations.

The IT Analyst reports to the Regional IT Manager, and will be responsible for assisting the organization in efforts to optimize and improve the mill's safety, quality and financial performance by providing network, server, applications, desktop and telecomminications support.

Your responsibilities:

  • Ensure application of highest Safety standards for sawmill and yard operations
  • Work with management of operations & maintenance (mechanical and electrical) to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of IT Service activities.
  • First and second level support for end users.
  • Backups, monitoring, development of DR plans, maintenance of service contracts, managing contractors and consultants, resource allocation, capacity planning and strategic planning.
  • AD domain migration, file server standardization LAN upgrades, desktop imaging.
  • Demand management, license management, auditing and asset tracking.
  • Support and ensure adherence to corporate and local policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all employees work in accordance with the rules, policies, programs and procedures of the Company, and with all applicable laws relating to health and safety and the ISO-14001 processes
  • Perform all administrative tasks (reports: production, maintenance, timesheets, health and safety, performance, training, transfer of personnel, environment, etc.)

Ideal profile:

  • Computer Science Bachelor’s degree, technical diploma, with related industry experience;
  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of equivalent experience in desktop, server and network technologies as well as end-user interfacing.
  • Experience supporting a highly networked environment and upgrading and maintaining IT assets.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, VMWare, MS/Intel server management, Cisco Networking MS, SQL and Oracle databases;
  • Demonstrated ability to balance priorities that meet short and long-term objectives; uses organized and efficient work methods;
  • Proficient analytical skills required as well as experience with SAP, Majiq, Microsoft products, Cisco networking and Lab data entry.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills;
  • Ability to work as part of a team, to communicate with all levels of the organization and to adapt quickly to change
  • A self-motivated individual who will work towards Safety & Reliability Excellence.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
