IT Audit Senior Analyst

Job Summary

Equinix’s Internal Audit department, known as Business Assurance Services (BAS), enhances and protects organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight.  In a demanding high-performance environment designed for high-caliber individuals seeking growth and career advancement, BAS team members gain valuable experience and in-depth knowledge of the information technology (IT), product, finance, compliance, operational, and strategic areas of the Company by working on a wide range of assurance and advisory activities.

We are seeking an IT Audit Senior Analyst for the BAS department who will perform the risk-based technology assurance and advisory activities, primarily focused on IT systems (including cloud platforms), cybersecurity, digital transformation initiatives, emerging technologies and SOX compliance. The position will assist in large, complex, and highly visible engagements and develop strong working relationships with management. The position requires a person adept in balancing the dual roles of independent, objective assurance provider and consultative business partner. The position will be based in one of the following locations: Frisco, Texas or Toronto, Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the IT Audit Manager in risk-based IT audit and advisory activities to assess and provide assurance over the IT risk universe including IT SOX compliance

  • Perform planning, fieldwork and reporting for IT audits, including preparing audit planning memos, developing and executing test steps, reviewing and analyzing evidence, identifying and assessing risks and control issues, and drafting summary memos and audit reports

  • Participate in annual SOX planning and scoping activities to understand significant changes to the environment

  • Support SOX readiness projects impacting key financial business processes, risks, controls, and IT dependencies

  • Be a trusted business advisor by developing business relationships and providing value-add assurance, advice and insight to management on governance, risk, compliance, control improvement matters, and key Company initiatives

  • Work regularly and communicate effectively with IT, Product and Finance organizations and business process owners to relay findings and recommendations, track and help drive remediation efforts to closure, advise on control requirements in the design of new systems and processes, identify trends and insights, and continuously seek improvement opportunities

  • Conduct work in an efficient and effective manner, monitoring and communicating adherence to project timelines and departmental budget

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Technology Audit, Compliance, System Development, Information Security or similar; Big 4 audit/consulting or similar experience is preferred

  • Experience with the following areas is a strongly preferred: SOX compliance, cloud applications (Oracle Cloud ERP and EPM, Workday, SFDC), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), hybrid cloud architecture, cybersecurity, agile methodology, data analytics and continuous auditing, DevSecOps, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Development pipeline (GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes etc.)

  • Experience with system implementation reviews and on-prem to SaaS application migration reviews is strongly preferred

  • Experience working with programming language and SQL in addition to Audit and Compliance roles is preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast moving, global, complex company environment, to easily adapt between working independently (with minimal direction) or collaboratively on a team (with various stakeholders and varied personalities), to be effective in new situations, and to work comfortably in ambiguity on unstructured projects and in a multi-tasking environment

  • Team player focused on team cohesion and success; adept at building relationships across organizations; willingness and ability to lead projects as well as participate as member of project team

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to effect change through collaboration, professionalism, trust, credibility and influence

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to quickly evaluate issues, determine root causes, and creatively solve complex problems in a solutions-oriented environment

  • Commitment to quality, willingness to challenge current practice and innovate, and continuous improvement mindset

  • Self-motivated, flexible, proactive, rapid learner and responsive; possesses passion, energy, enthusiasm to drive results; action oriented; views challenges as opportunities; tenacious and focused

  • One or more relevant professional certifications (CISA, CISSP, CISM, etc.) is preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related degree plus technical IT experience

The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are: • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $102,000 to $162,000 per year • California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $94,000 to $149,000 per year • Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $85,000 to $135,000 per year Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position may be offered in other locations. The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
