The Opportunity
Our Audit Risk Management (ARM) Group in our National Office is looking for a dynamic professional to join our growing team as a Senior Analyst. The ARM Group promotes audit quality and works to ensure KPMG (the "Firm") and its personnel are in compliance with Professional, Regulatory, and KPMG Global standards.
What you will do
- Support the ongoing and effective operation of Risk Management related controls under the International Standards on Quality Management (ISQM1). This includes but is not limited to the following:
- Engage with various stakeholders to support the operation of ISQM1 controls applicable to ARM.
- Ensure all controls are appropriately designed to address the process risk points identified by KPMG Global and provide feedback to the Risk Management Partner, Audit and other ARM Subject Matter Experts on improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate the ISQM1 process to ensure all controls operate in accordance with the required timeline and effectiveness as required by the KPMG Global System of Quality Management.
- Assist in preparing presentations tailored to audiences at various levels and business functions to communicate ISQM1 findings.
- As part of a team, perform Root Cause Analysis on audit quality issues identified through regulatory reviews, internal Quality Performance Reviews and other monitoring programs and activities of the Firm.
- Assist with projects on an ad hoc and on-going basis and identify process enhancements and improvements.
- Assist in media monitoring for audit clients.
- Elevate your skills as you learn from a high-performing team.
- Post-secondary education, preferably in a business-related field.
- Prior experience in a large professional services firm or similar environment, including experience in audit or Audit Risk Management, is an asset.
- Experience with internal controls in Operations, IT, or Compliance, i.e. documentation, control testing or process owner responsibilities.
- 2 or more years of project management experience.
- Must be well organized with solid time management skills and the ability to analyze and interpret information.
- Excellent business writing and communication skills, with a great attention to detail and ability to generate high quality deliverables.
- Possess advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Knowledge of Power BI, data analytics and automation tools such as the Microsoft Power suite would be an asset.
- Ability to work independently without supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of data.
- This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate may be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking colleagues or stakeholders while at KPMG. The successful candidate may be required to create, interpret and/or apply policies, practices, laws and and/or regulations during the regular course of their employment.
