The Opportunity:

 

This position involves being part of a dynamic team environment responsible for designing, developing and supporting software solutions to meet business requirements in the areas of Sales, Marketing, Customer Support and Services. 

The position will be primarily focused on the system used by Customer Support to manage OpenText support contracts.  OpenText is leveraging their Assure product offering to achieve maximum efficiency for the renewals process.  The Assure system is tightly integrated into Enterprise Systems at OpenText including integrations with our ERP systems and our Customer Support ticketing systems. 

 

You Are Great At:

 

  • Familiarity with BPM processing and development considered a strong asset (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Develop solutions to meet the business requirements while meeting time and cost constraints
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle - requirements, design, code, testing (unit, end-to-end and regression), documentation, implementation, warranty
  • Identifying and creating solutions to proactively improve user experience and account for future growth
  • Translate business requirements into functional/technical requirements working within the framework of the tools available.
  • Interact with Business representatives to ensure their requirements are being met
  • Adhere to IT Change Management and best practices
  • Identify, create, document and implement processes that provide additional efficiencies for the team and IT.
  • This position would be 60% development, 20% operations and tickets remediation, 20% performance enhancement, upgrades, suggesting improvements on current processes, SQL data quality.
  • Ticket remediation including root cause analysis and permanent resolution

 

What It Takes:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree, College diploma or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of development experience using the Microsoft .net framework (asp.net, vb.net, C#)
  • 2+ years SQL Server Query analysis and tuning
  • A desire to find the root cause of issues and permanently fix them
  • Similar development experience working with Microsoft SQL server or equivalent including query performance tuning
  • An aptitude to learn new technology quickly
  • Effective documentation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The capacity to mentor teammates
  • The ability to handle multiple streams of work effectively
