Janitor
Our Vision
The Canadian Mental Health Association provides mental health education and mental illness recovery- focused programs and services for people of all ages and their families. We work collaboratively to develop realistic community awareness of homelessness and provide housing opportunities for clients.
CMHA Kamloops creates awareness, provides education, and supports individuals and families living with mental health or substance use concerns. Our programs are community-based, they include supportive and independent living, homelessness services, and peer support. By working closely with other community agencies, we are working to bridge gaps in mental health care and facilitate access to critical services and resources.
The Role
The janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, ensuring a hygienic, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, clients, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors regularly.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Dust and polish furniture, equipment, partitions, and other surfaces.
- Ensure safe storage of cleaning materials, keeping them out of reach of unauthorized individuals.
- Regularly inspect the facility to identify areas requiring attention or repair.
- Participate in deep cleaning projects, such as shampooing carpets or cleaning air ducts, as scheduled.
Key Skills and Experience Required
- One year of recent, related work experience
- Own Vehicle and Valid Driver's License required
- First Aid with CPR required
- Mental Health First Aid preferred
