Janitor/Cleaner

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team at Van-Whole Produce, a leading produce wholesaler. As a Janitor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe working environment, ensuring the overall hygiene and sanitation of our facility.

Duties:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
• Sanitize and clean restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
• Ensure cleanliness in offices, corridors, and warehouse spaces.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables according to company policies and regulations.
• Keep track of cleaning supplies and request replenishment when needed.
• Monitor and empty trash receptacles regularly.
• Ensure that restrooms are well-stocked with necessary toiletries.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing cleaning duties.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
• Assist in preparations for special events or inspections.
• Collaborate with other staff to accomplish cleaning tasks efficiently.
• Conduct routine or minor maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
• Capability to operate independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with janitorial work.
• Stamina and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $18.00-$19.25 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
