Overview
Are you interested in being part of a team that makes a difference in the lives of workers across British Columbia? We're looking for a knowledgeable, resourceful individual with job development and employment placement experience to join our Vocational Rehabilitation Services team as a Job Developer & Employment Specialist.
How you'll make a difference: You'll help people who've been injured on the job return to work.
Where you'll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.
In this role, you'll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in our Richmond office. You will also be required to be out in the field at least one day per week.
What you'll do
  • Engage with employers to develop suitable employment opportunities for injured workers
  • Collaborate with our vocational rehabilitation consultants to understand the employment needs of injured workers and connect injured workers with opportunities that match their skills, aptitude, and work experience

Is this a good fit for you?
We're looking for someone who can:
  • Initiate contact with prospective employers, agencies, and associations to understand employer needs and to generate job opportunities for injured workers
  • Negotiate and coordinate work assessments and on-the-job training opportunities with employers
  • Conduct return-to-work follow up with workers and employers
  • Establish and develop collaborative, professional relationships with various stakeholders, including employers, professional associations, placement agencies, and government agencies to promote available WorkSafeBC programs and hiring incentives
  • Travel throughout the province and stay overnight as required

Your background and experience
  • A bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as marketing, human resources, social work, psychology, occupational therapy, or kinesiology
  • A minimum of two and a half years of related experience within the last seven years, including job development and employment placement
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
  • A valid B.C. driver's license

We'll consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary: $37.37/hourly
