TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of piping systems
- measure, cut ,thread and bend pipes to required shapes using hand and power tools
- Assemble and install pipes, fittings and fixtures according to specification and codes
- Ensure the Integrity and strength of welded joints through proper techniques and adherence to safety standards
- Conduct pressure tests to ensure the integrity and tightness of installed piping systems
- Inspect and troubleshoot piping systems for leaks, malfunctions or other issues
- make necessary adjustments and repairs to ensure optimal performance
- Work closely with other construction professionals, such as plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians, to coordinate the installation of piping systems within larger projects.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safety practices during all tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including as-built drawings, material lists, and equipment specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a pipefitting apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training
Certification in pipefitting or welding is often preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $37.00-$51.00 per hour
Expected hours: 70 – 84 per week
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay
