Responsibilities:
- Install, assemble, and maintain pipes and pipe systems according to blueprints and specifications
- Cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand tools or machines
- Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading
- Weld or solder pipes together using various techniques
- Test pipe systems for leaks using pressure gauges or other equipment
- Repair or replace damaged pipes or pipe systems
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project completion on time and within budget
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to building codes and regulations
Qualifications:
- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of pipefitting principles
- Experience in HVAC systems installation is a plus
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, cutters, and threaders
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Knowledge of basic math calculations for measuring and cutting pipes accurately
- Familiarity with different types of pipes, fittings, valves, and connectors
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with pipe systems
- Physical stamina to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and working in tight spaces
- Attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and proper alignment of pipes
