Junior VoIP/ Security Technician

Protel Technologies Inc is a growing local technology company providing Teclecom, VoIP, IT services, Door Entry/Access Control , Surveillance and Cabling services throught the Okanagan.

Responsibilities:

• Providing high-quality support to our clients by configuring, programming, installing, maintaining, upgrading, and servicing our core NEC products including:
• SV8100 & SV9100 Premise based systems
• Sl1100 & SL2100 premises based phone systems
• Univerge Blue unified communication platform
• IP and SIP phones
• wireless phones

• Perform telecommunications activities, including but not limited to network and phone system troubleshooting.
• Perform Security activities, including installation and servicing of access control systems, door entry and CCTV systems.
• Complete Service Orders via company operations software
• Document and communicate in detail all interactions with the customer as it relates to open service orders. Keep accurate changelogs of all work completed
• Remote and on-site network systems diagnosis
• Evaluate current client solutions, and identify opportunities for upgrades and updates
• Perform Network cabling and termination
• Complete technical training and complete all required documentation in our service order software system.

Requirements:

• Basic IT knowledge (i.e. Routers, switches, networks, TCP, UDP, RTP, RTCP, DNS, DHCP)
• VoIP and SIP knowledge an asset
• Minimum 1 year in IT or Telecom installation or support
• Excellent communications and team player skills
• Reliable transportation as field work is required
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Adaptable and open to priority changes
• Calm and collected disposition
• VoIP/ IT knowledge an asset
• Voice/Data cabling an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
