Junior Welding & Metallurgical Engineer

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Junior Welding & Metallurgical Engineerbased out of our Sherwood Park office with limited field travel.

Job Summary:

The Junior Welding & Metallurgical Engineer is responsible forproviding metallurgical support to the project teams by applying knowledge in the various types of materials and understanding of their applications and limitations.

Summary of Essential Responsibilities:

· Review of codes and standards for revisions

· Provide metallurgical support to the project teams

· Review current welding practices for enhancements

· Review of construction drawings to determine requirements

· Work with internal and external clients on welding advancements

· Review new technology and products in welding field for feasibility

Minimum requirements:

• Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
• Candidates must be proficient in using various type of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.).
• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
• Ability to work well with others and independently.
• Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Works well under pressure.
• Extended hours may be required from time to time.
• Travel may be required from time to time.
• Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.

Qualifications:

· Post-secondary diploma or degree in Metallurgy / Materials / Welding / Engineering Technology disciplines

• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing including marijuana
• Must be fit-for-duty
• Good communication skills in English
• Must be immediately eligible/able to work in Canada
